After 100 years and 4.25 million vehicles, it's no wonder that Chevrolet has impacted the lives of people in over 120 countries. And recently, Chevy asked filmmakers from around the world to interpret the tagline "Chevy Runs Deep," and compete for a coveted 30-second ad spot during the 2012 Super Bowl. Of course, Chevy and their partner, MOFILM, received nearly 200 entries in this contest. They narrowed it down to 35, and now, they're inviting everybody to get in on the contest.
It started with a simple idea. Joel Ewanick, Company VP of Global Marketing Chief Officer says, "With Chevrolet Route 66, we wanted to tap into the talents of creative people from every corner of the Earth to discover our next Super Bowl Ad...the submissions we received show that people from around the world share many of the same values and how Chevrolet plays a role in helping them along life's road."1 And now, they want to know more stories, inviting social networkers from around the world to join in the effort.
How do you join in? It's really easy: register for an account on ChevroletRoute66.MSN.com, view the spots from the 35 finalists, vote for and share your favorite ad, and answer the question, "If you could drive to any destination in your home country, where would you go?" Each time somebody comes to the site because of a video you shared, your chances to win $10,000 increase.
The short films ranged from touching to funny to inspirational, each a snap shot of what a pivotal part of our lives our vehicles are. Entries featured fast cars like the new Chevrolet Camaro, green cars like the Chevy Volt, and SUVs like the Chevrolet Equinox.
Even if you don't win the $10,000 first prize, $3,500 second prize, or $1,500 third prize, you're sure to find some decent entertainment on the ChevroletRoute66 website. So sign on and start sharing - polls close on January 25th! And be sure to tune into the Super Bowl on Februaryth to catch the winning ad. From all of us here at Dan Vaden Chevrolet Cadillac, good luck!
